Mining & Land Resources Institute

April 23-24, 2025 | Lake Tahoe, NV

We look forward to sharing information about the 2025 MALRI soon!

2024 Recap: Attendees from 3 countries, 13 states and provinces enjoy networking and learning

Another AAPL Energy Institute — another packed house of energy and mining professionals eager to learn. In fact, the 2024 MALRI saw a whopping 41% increase in registration numbers from last year!

The education sessions at MALRI were stacked with industry leaders covering topics unique to the region and the mining industry, including Nevada’s mining sector, developments in Canada, abandoned mine lands, renewable energy in the mining, explosives and termination dust. Other general topics involved leadership and success (ethics), technology and AI, negotiations, geothermal development and more.

Networking is such an important aspect of the land profession, and the 2024 Mining and Land Resources Institute delivered plenty of opportunities to connect with regional, national and international professionals in beautiful Lake Tahoe, Nevada. This year’s MALRI attendees represented three countries and 13 states or provinces: Alaska; Arizona; Brisbane, Queensland; British Columbia, Canada; Colorado; Michigan; Minnesota; Nevada; Ontario, Canada; Perth, Western Australia; Texas; Utah; and Washington. With a large and varied group of mining and energy professionals, new and unique connections were developed during the many networking sessions.

Several attendees participated in the unofficial ski day at Heavenly Ski Resort and welcome reception the day before the institute. After a schedule packed with learning, MALRI concluded day one with a networking happy hour that included stunning views of snow-covered mountains. Additional networking breaks and a raffle were scattered throughout the institute. After the final education session on day two, attendees participated in a lovely sunset beach walk to finish off an unforgettable MALRI.

Special thanks to Ryan Bensing, CPL, Orson Tingey, CPL, and the Nevada Landmen’s Association for partnering with AAPL to deliver another excellent event. Our institute sponsors also played an integral role in making this event happen, and we cannot thank them enough for the consistent support.

THANK YOU TO OUR ALLIANCE PARTNERS
