Southwest Land Institute
Late Summer | Arlington, TX
Plans are underway to host this event in the late summer of 2025!
2024 Recap: Everything’s bigger in Texas — even energy institutes!
The 2024 Southwest Land Institute was a sold-out grand slam that featured first-class education, fun networking and America’s pastime in the heart of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
Because the institute sells out yearly, the 2024 edition moved to a new, larger venue — the Lowes Arlington Hotel. Even with the increased capacity, this year’s institute still maxed out, making it the largest attended Southwest Land Institute in at least a decade.
Industry leaders provided professional development, covering essential topics relevant to the region, including an Ark-La-Tex legislative update, artificial intelligence, lithium mining and more. Energy professionals were able to earn over 6 AAPL CEUs as well as CLEs from Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma.
Refreshing breaks and a breezy networking reception after the education sessions offered excellent views of the new and old Texas Rangers' ballparks and AT&T Stadium — home of the Dallas Cowboys — while varied backgrounds and a large number of attendees made for unique networking and new business connections. Attendees and presenters represented four states: Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and California.
After the full day of education and networking, attendees caught the World Champion Texas Rangers, winning in the 10th inning against the Houston Astros. Several Astros fans from Houston drove up I-45 to enjoy the institute and game.
AAPL would like to thank all our attendees, presenters, volunteers and sponsors for making this mainstay event a success! And thanks to the Dallas Association of Petroleum Landmen and Fort Worth Association of Professional Landmen for their vital partnerships. We look for an even bigger SWLI next year!
